THROUGH BLESSING BAGS, PRAYER, AND SHARING THE GOSPEL, WE MEET PEOPLE
WHERE THEY ARE - ON THE STREETS AND IN THE COMMUNITY. OUR NEXT STEP IN
THIS MISSION IS TO CREATE A
TRANSITION CENTER WITH GOD LEADING THE WAY, IT WILL TAKE US ALL WORKING TOGETHER. THE VISION FOR THIS CENTER IS TO PROVIDE
A SAFE PLACE WHERE INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING
HOUSELESSNESS CAN BEGIN REBUILDING THEIR LIVES. THE TRANSITION CENTER WILL
HELP PEOPLE MOVE FROM SURVIVAL TO
STABILITY BY OFFERING SUPPORT, GUIDANCE, AND CONNECTION TO RESOURCES.

Serving Opportunities


Blessing Bag Preparation Night
Second Thursday of every month — 6:30 PM
1414 E. 96th St., Odessa, TX 79768
We prepare approximately 400 blessing bags.

Street Ministry Outreach
Thursdays and Sundays — 4:30 PM
Meet at the Odessa Library (5th Street)
Followed by outreach at the Salvation Army
Includes church service, prayer, and distribution of blessing bags.

Hope for the Homeless Outreach
First Monday of every month (unless there is a holiday)
10:30 AM — American Legion
Distribution of approximately 200 blessing bags.

Blessing bags include:
Biblical encouragement items, water, chips, protein, fruit, and toiletries.



Our Story


After a life-changing four-wheeler accident at age 15, where I was declared clinically dead for fifteen minutes, God began working deeply in my heart. I realized I could no longer live for the world — I was called to share God’s Word, love, grace, and mercy with others. 

During my hospital stay, my church family at Crossroads faithfully prayed for me morning and night. They even wore wristbands that said PFC 8:29, which stood for Pray for Carissa at 8:29 in the morning and again at night. I am truly overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who lifted me up in prayer while I was in the hospital recovering from my horrific four-wheeler accident. Your prayers, love, and support meant more than words can express.


At 21, I felt called to the mission field. That same year, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. For the next ten years, I prayed and sought God’s direction. At age 31, I fully surrendered to His calling.

God placed John 14:2–3 on my heart and called me to help feed His sheep.

Through this journey, God developed in me a deep compassion for those struggling on the streets. No matter their situation or past, Jesus has never left their side. They are loved, seen, and not forgotten.

On February 7, 2023, that calling became reality when My Father’s House Odessa, TX was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry. Since then, God has faithfully brought volunteers, supporters, and partners alongside this mission.

In 2025, I completed my Executive Director certification, continuing to grow in leadership and service.

God also led me deeper into His Word, which resulted in writing a devotional titled Borrowed Time: Living on His Time. All proceeds from the book go directly to supporting the ministry and continuing to share the message of Christ.
